On March 18, 2021, GIAR took place the 10th Online International Symposium of Gunma University Initiative for Advanced Research (GIAR) under the theme of “Remarkable Advances in Fluorine Chemistry”. After the welcome address by President Hiroshi Hiratsuka, the guest speakers delivered their talks on the screen with their presentation slides, which do cutting-edge researches in the fluorine chemistry field. Each talk made a number of fruitful discussions from the audience. Finally, this event successfully ended with the closing remarks by Division Leader of Element-Function Chemistry Masashi Sonoyama. This year, the symposium is broadcast by Zoom between Gunma, Japan and France because of the COVID-19 however we had over 100 attendees and it became a great opportunity to share and exchange the research ideas and develop the networking for researchers.
