This award is given to a researcher who has achieved outstanding research results for the promotion of gene therapy research and development, the dissemination of gene therapy technology, and the revitalization of the Japan Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (JSGCT).

The award was conferred on September 12, 2023, during the 29th Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Gene and Cell Therapy.
