4. Job description | Research: As this position involves working with existing datasets, not data collection, it is essential that candidates have experience in data preparation and analysis of large datasets. Preference will be given to those with research experience in the area of women’s health and/or chronic conditions. Data analysis of women’s cohort research (J-SNOW, ALSWH and InterLACE) - [J-SNOW] Japan-Study group on Nationwide Occupational cohorts of Women health professionals: J-SNOW - [ALSWH] There is also the possibility of cross- cohort comparisons between of Japanese and Australian women using data from J-SNOW and the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health. - [InterLACE]International collaboration for a Life course Approach to reproductive health and Chronic disease Events Education: Education and research guidance for graduate students and others |

9. Term of employment | 5 years - During the term, the performance of the successful candidate will be reviewed and the term will be renewed if they successfully passes the review process. The renewed term will be up to 10 years from the date of the first appointment as a faculty member. - When the International Open Laboratory (the University of Queensland) is reviewed or closed, the term after the renewal of appointment will be until the end of the fiscal year in which the laboratory is reviewed or closed. - Retirement age will be the end of the fiscal year of 65 years of age. |
10. Qualifications | The candidate must meet all of the following requirements: - The candidate must hold a doctoral degree or be expected to obtain a doctoral degree at the time of appointment. In the case of PhD candidates, please inform us of the expected date of obtaining the doctoral degree. - The candidate must have expertise in analysis of women cohort data and related fields. Additionally, who are willing to promote cutting-edge and original research in these fields, as well as to engage in educational activities with high motivation. Preference will be given to candidate who has completed a Masters degree in Statistics, Applied mathematics, Public health, or in a related field. |
11. Salary | The annual salary system will be adopted, and the retirement allowance will be paid. Basic salary will be determined based on academic and work experience in accordance with the Employment Regulations for Faculty and Staff Members at Gunma University and the Salary Regulations for Faculty Members under the Annual Salary System (Item 2) under the Employment Regulations. In addition, commuting, housing, dependent, and other allowances will be provided, and there is a salary increase system. - Example of annual basic salary for an assistant professor with 3 years of work experience after completing a doctoral degree; Approximately JPY 5,400,000 |
12. Working hours | Regular working hours are from 08:30 to 17:15. The discretionary work system for professional services will be adopted. (The daily working hours are deemed to amount to 7 hours and 45 minutes.) |
