- International Open Laboratory (University of Montpellier) is embedded within GIAR in Gunma University. Dr. Andrei TURTOI from INSERM Institute of Cancer Research (IRCM) and University of Montpellier (France) is the PI of the laboratory.
4. Job descriptionResearch: Development of the next generation drugs based on innovative biomarker targets
The laboratory strongly collaborates with GIAR Integrated Oncology Lab, supervised by Associate Professor Takehiko YOKOBORI. The successful candidate will be employed by Gunma University to participate in collaborative research under the supervision of Dr. Turtoi and co-supervision of Dr. Yokobori.
The research is focused on the development of tumor biomarkers for targeted therapy of solid gastro-intestinal cancers. Several candidate biomarkers are currently pursued by the lab as they are developed into monoclonal antibodies and tested for their efficacy in the pre-clinical setting. The successful candidate is expected to engage in the research described above, leading independently its own project, participating at results discussion, presentation and publication.

The contract of the term is based on Japanese fiscal year (April 01 to March 31) and the term will be renewed as the University requires.
The contract can be renewed each fiscal year up to March 31, 2028.
10. QualificationsThe candidate must meet all of the following requirements:
- The candidate must hold a doctoral degree at the time of appointment.
- The ideal candidate has successfully concluded PhD program in cancer-related discipline, with at least one first author publication in international peer-reviewed journal.
- The candidate has outstanding understanding of the current literature with respect to biomarker research, molecular oncology, intratumor heterogeneity and targeted therapy.
- A strong collaborative spirit with fluency in English language round-up the profile.
11. SalaryBasic Salary: Hourly wage JPY1,800-2,000.

The basic wage per hour will be determined based on academic and work experience in accordance with the Employment Regulations for Part-time Employees at Gunma University.
(The salary closes at the end of the month, and paid on the 21st of the following month.)

Commuting allowance: Paid those who commute 2 km or more.
Overtime allowance: If overtime work is requested.
12. Working hoursFrom 9:00 am to 16:00 pm / From Monday to Friday ; 6 hours per day (60 minutes break)
